Booking & Hire
Our standard hires run from 2 to 7 days, making them ideal for weekends, short breaks and week-long New Forest holidays. If you’re looking for something longer, please get in touch and we’ll see what we can arrange.
Yes. Our minimum hire period is 2 days. Tour De Forest is designed around multi-day adventures rather than traditional hourly or single-day bike hire.
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during weekends, school holidays and the summer months. If you’re visiting at short notice, it’s still worth checking availability.
Usually, yes, provided the bikes haven’t already been reserved by another customer. Contact us as soon as you know you’d like to extend your adventure and we’ll check availability.
Absolutely. You can hire multiple bikes in the same booking, subject to availability. This is ideal for couples, families and groups exploring the New Forest together.
Your hire includes your e-bike, battery, charger, helmet, and bike lock, plus delivery and collection within our standard delivery area. We’ll also make sure you’re comfortable with the bike and understand how everything works before you set off.
Yes. Our pricing is structured so that the daily cost reduces on longer hires, giving you better value the longer you keep your bike.
Yes. We take a £250 refundable security deposit per bike. Provided the bikes and equipment are returned in accordance with our hire terms, your deposit will be returned after your hire.
Delivery & Collection
Yes – that’s a big part of what makes Tour De Forest different. Instead of spending part of your holiday travelling to and from a bike hire shop, we’ll bring the bikes to you and collect them again at the end of your hire.
We deliver throughout our designated New Forest delivery area of Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Lymington, and East End. Enter your location when booking or contact us if you’re unsure whether we cover where you’re staying.
We will consider other New Forest Locations, depending on the hire and availability so please get in touch if you wish to discuss this.
Yes. We can deliver directly to many hotels, holiday cottages, campsites, holiday parks and other accommodation throughout our delivery area. If you’re staying somewhere with restricted access, please check with your accommodation provider that bike delivery is permitted.
Potentially, yes. Let us know what you’re planning and we’ll confirm whether we can accommodate different delivery and collection locations.
The person responsible for the booking should be present for delivery so that we can hand over the bikes, check everything with you and explain how they work. Ideally, everyone who is riding a bike will be present for the delivery briefing so you are all aware of how to use the bikes.
Just contact us as soon as possible. We’ll always try to work around reasonable delays, although significant changes may affect other scheduled deliveries and collections that day, and therefore may incur a charge.
The E-Bikes
We provide comfortable, capable full-suspension electric bikes selected specifically for exploring the New Forest. They’re designed to be equally at home on roads, cycle routes and the Forest’s permitted gravel tracks.
Yes. That’s exactly what we’ve chosen them for. Their electric assistance, wider tyres and suspension make them particularly well suited to the mixture of roads and permitted off-road cycling routes you’ll encounter around the New Forest.
Battery range varies considerably depending on the level of assistance you use, terrain, hills, rider weight, weather and riding style. As a rough guide, using the bike on PAS1 will last approximately 75miles (120km); PAS3 approximately 60 miles (100km) and PAS5 approximately 50 miles (85km).
A full recharge takes approximately 2 hours. You don’t necessarily need to wait for a completely empty battery, so topping it up is an easy way to start each day ready to explore. Only charge for the length of time required to replace usage, and do not leave plugged in for more than 8 hours.
Yes. A compatible charger is supplied with each bike so you can recharge it during your hire.
Yes, we will demonstrate how to do this at delivery. This means you can conveniently charge the battery at your accommodation without having to bring the whole bike indoors.
Our e-bikes comply with UK requirements for electrically assisted pedal cycles. Electric assistance operates while you pedal and cuts out at 15.5 mph (25 km/h). You can ride faster than this, but you’ll be providing the power yourself!
No. If you’re already comfortable riding a normal bicycle, you’ll usually find an e-bike very easy to get used to. We’ll show you how the controls, gears and electric assistance work when we deliver your bike.
Riding in the New Forest
The New Forest has a fantastic network of permitted cycling routes, including many traffic-free gravel tracks. We’ll point you towards resources that help you plan a route suitable for your ability and the kind of adventure you’re looking for.
No. Cycling isn’t permitted on every footpath or Forest track. Please stick to roads, designated cycle routes and other places where cycling is legally permitted. This helps protect the Forest’s sensitive habitats and ensures everyone can enjoy it responsibly.
Absolutely. Exploring the New Forest is what this is all about. We can suggest routes depending on where you’re staying, how far you’d like to ride and whether you’re looking for family-friendly cycling, sightseeing, pubs and cafés or a bigger adventure.
Yes. There are numerous relatively flat and traffic-free cycling routes around the New Forest that are ideal for families and riders who simply want a relaxed day exploring.
The New Forest’s free-roaming animals are one of the things that makes it such a special place. Please slow down, give animals plenty of space and never assume they’ll move out of your way. Don’t feed or touch the animals, and always ride responsibly around livestock and wildlife.
